word-fact-oh!

Basics

Given a word, players build a word-fact-oh! set by finding the matching antonym, synonym, and definition. The game includes three, increasingly more challenging, levels (A, B,C). Each level includes eight solution cards with three matching cards each.

24 cards per level, 72 cards in all

Analogies

Given an analogy players find three additional cards with matching analogies to build a word-fact-oh! set. The game includes three levels, with each level containing increasingly more difficult examples of the same analogy. Eight analogies are included in each level: animal:habitat, part:whole, food:food group, word:antonym, animal:class, part:part (compound word), word:synonym, tool:measures. Given the unique design of this specific word-fact-oh! game, Analogies offers possibilities of combining all three levels and composing shapes with up to 12 matching analogy cards.

Roots

By far the most challenging of the word-fact-oh! games, Roots explores meanings of words through using their, mostly Latin, roots. Given the root and its meaning, players find three words that contain that same root. Three levels offer increasingly more challenging choices for finding matches and building the word-fact-oh set. Level A is relatively easy in that the matching roots are underlined. Levels B and C rely on players using the given meaning of the root to determine the best match. The word-fact-oh! Roots game is designed for older players and those with more extensive vocabulary skills.
